About the show

The Importance of Being Earnest is arguably one of the greatest comedies ever written. It is Oscar Wilde's most famous and most successful play.

Earnest is Oscar Wilde at his finest: dry, delightful, captivating and bubbly. This play charms the audience with its inimitable sharp wit.

This wonderful story about two clever, witty young men is set in England in 1895. It is a story of romance, secret identities and cucumber sandwiches. This lovely play is a fastpaced, satirical romp that pokes run of the strictures of Victorian society. It is sure to make you smile and is written in a language everyone can understand!

(No offence intended to our friend, Will Shakespeare!)

We offer both regular ticket rates and for some evening shows we offer Prologue + Ticket rates. What is the Prologue? Join us for a 15 minute pre-show discussion with the Directors. This prologue will offer insights into the story, our production and the life and career of the infamous Oscar Wilde. The best part is that you get to pick your seats early (first-come, first-serve). To purchase Prologue tickets with your regular seat, make sure to select the Prologue event for the Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday night performance. Prologues start at 7PM sharp.
